song Heroes/Helden by David Bowie. Plot: True story of the drug scene in Berlin in the 1970s, following tape recordings of Christiane F. Fourteen-year-old Christiane lives with her mother and little sister in a small apartment in a typical multi-storey concrete apartment building in a dull neighbourhood in the outskirts of West Berlin. She’s bored and lacks things to do and is sick and tired of living there. She hears of Sound, a new disco in the city center, called the most modern …

I was only 7 years old when my mom rented this movie for me (David Bowie was on the box, and she knew I was a big fan) and OMG it freaked me out. It scared me off of drugs until I was in my late 20s!

Show this to your kids. Hopefully it will scare them too. :-)

By the way, I still love watching this movie today, it’s a classic.

  • brideshead1921 says:

that’s what they mean by music being an international language. the emotion of how Bowie does it in German is much greater. it may be also due to the nature of German pronunciation itself, i.e. he emotes on “Ich” much better than “I” as the “ch” sound is harsher.

you can think of the vocals as just another instrument, ie guitar, saxophone. each instrument has it’s qualities. if you listen to blues guitar, you can feel emotion without it saying anything in English, correct?

    good video!
but the hole film is so bad When you read the book! It doesn’t show the real problem with heroin! And I remember that the film ends in the middle of the story so you can’t imagine the real problem of the people in the book.
But the book is great! Most people had a wrong impression of the people like christiane before they read the book. And after reading the book you understand that people. you see that thei’re real ill

  • RalfClaus says:

    absulut geiles Video, sper, spitze

  • LitaniTilSatan666 says:

the movie is very sad if you knew someone who lost a battle with heroin, but its painful watching it with people who do not. there ignorance is just fucking unbearable, take my word for it.

  • dylbiebee says:

No. Only have seen the movie. I wish I could get the movie with subtitles. The English overdub is very annoying.

  • aBBiTeufelchen says:

very very good. you read the book?

  • RedOrchestraPro says:

    It looks good anyway ;)

  • Liisatra says:

If you put it to full screen it looks good

  • dylbiebee says:

    It was actually a mistake.

  • Darioracr says:

Cool. How did you get the size to be smaller than the screen?
